Kyrgyzstan Visa for Indian Citizens: E-Visa Step by Step (2026)

Kyrgyzstan e-visa for Indian passport holders: ≈$51–62 fee, ~3 working days, step-by-step guide, registration rules and the direct Delhi–Bishkek flight.

Quick answerChecked 02.11.2026
  • Indian citizens need a visa: apply online at evisa.e-gov.kg — tourist e-visa ≈$51 (30 days) or ≈$62 (60 days), ≈₹4,500–5,500 (as of 11.2026, check portal).
  • Processing is usually about 3 working days; apply 1–2 weeks before the flight and print the PDF.
  • TezJet flies Delhi – Bishkek direct once a week (since 08.12.2025, Sundays at launch); alternatives via Almaty, Tashkent or Dubai.
  • Kazakhstan is visa-free for Indians for up to 14 days per visit (max 42 days in 180) — easy to combine Almaty with Issyk-Kul.
  • Registration rules changed with Decree No. 600 (04.09.2026): short hotel stays are usually fine, longer stays need checking.

Indian passport holders need a visa for Kyrgyzstan, but it is fully online: apply at evisa.e-gov.kg, pay roughly $50–65 (≈₹4,400–5,700) by card and receive a PDF in about 3 working days. A direct TezJet flight from Delhi to Bishkek has operated weekly since December 2025, and Kazakhstan next door lets Indians in visa-free for up to 14 days — so a two-country trip is easy. All fees and rules below are as of November 2026; check the official portal before you pay.

Do Indians need a visa for Kyrgyzstan?

Yes. India is not on Kyrgyzstan's visa-free list (which covers the EU, UK, USA, Japan, Korea, the Gulf states and others — see the full Kyrgyzstan visa guide). Indian citizens apply for an electronic visa before travel. Residence in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or another country does not change this: eligibility depends on your passport, not where you live. There is no reliable visa on arrival for Indians — do not fly without the approved e-visa printout.

How to apply for a Kyrgyzstan e-visa from India: step by step

  1. Open the official portal evisa.e-gov.kg. Ignore look-alike agency sites that charge double; agencies are fine if you want help, but you pay a service fee on top.
  2. Choose the visa type. For holidays pick the tourist (T) e-visa, single entry, 30 or 60 days. Business trips use a different category.
  3. Upload documents: passport bio page (valid at least 6 months beyond your trip), a recent passport-style photo on a light background, and fill in your itinerary and first hotel address.
  4. Pay online with a Visa or Mastercard. Indian debit cards with international usage enabled usually work; keep the payment confirmation.
  5. Wait for approval — typically about 3 working days, sometimes longer in June–August. Apply 1–2 weeks before your flight.
  6. Print the e-visa PDF and carry a copy on your phone. Show it at check-in in Delhi and at passport control in Bishkek.

The whole process is a good example of how Kyrgyz tourism is going digital: no embassy visit, no paper forms, card payment and an electronic record that border officers see instantly.

Registration rules in Kyrgyzstan (Decree No. 600, 2026)

Registration is separate from the visa. Cabinet Decree No. 600, signed on 4 September 2026, replaced the old registration procedure and tightened limits for many nationalities. For a typical Indian holiday of 7–14 days in hotels and guesthouses you normally do not need to do anything yourself, but rules for e-visa holders depend on the visa type and length of stay. If you stay longer than 30 days, rent a flat or stay with friends, ask your host or check the registration guide in advance (check before travel). Overstaying even by a day can lead to a fine and problems with future entry.

Combining Kyrgyzstan with Kazakhstan

Indian citizens can enter Kazakhstan without a visa for up to 14 days per visit, with a cap of 42 days in any 180 days (check vmp.gov.kz before travel). Many more Indians already visit Kazakhstan than Kyrgyzstan, and the two countries combine naturally: fly into Almaty, cross by road to Issyk-Kul and Karakol, and fly home from Bishkek. If you plan to cross the border more than once, apply for a multiple-entry Kyrgyz e-visa if available for your trip, or plan the route so you enter Kyrgyzstan only once. Since September 2025 a direct bus also links Karakol with Almaty via the Kegen – Karkyra crossing (1,200 som).

Myth vs fact

Myth: "Indians get a visa on arrival in Bishkek." Fact: the e-visa is the standard route; airlines may refuse boarding without it. Myth: "A UAE residence visa lets Indians in visa-free." Fact: the Gulf visa-free rule covers GCC citizens only, not residents.

FAQ

How much is the Kyrgyzstan e-visa for Indians?

About $51 (≈₹4,500) for a single-entry tourist e-visa of up to 30 days and about $62 (≈₹5,500) for up to 60 days, as of 2026. The portal charges in som at the current rate, so check the exact fee on evisa.e-gov.kg when applying. Agencies add their own service fee.

How long does the Kyrgyzstan e-visa take for Indian citizens?

Usually around 3 working days after payment, but allow 1–2 weeks, especially in the June–August peak. You receive a PDF by email; print it and keep a copy on your phone for check-in in India and passport control at Manas airport.

Is there visa on arrival in Kyrgyzstan for Indians?

No reliable visa on arrival exists for Indian passport holders. Get the e-visa before departure — airlines can refuse boarding without it. Kyrgyzstan's visa-free list covers the EU, UK, US, Gulf citizens and others, but not India.

Is there a direct flight from Delhi to Bishkek?

Yes. TezJet launched a direct Delhi – Bishkek service in December 2025, operating once a week (Sundays at launch). Flight time is roughly 3.5–4 hours. Check the airline for the current schedule; otherwise connect via Almaty, Tashkent, Dubai or Sharjah.

Can I visit Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on one trip from India?

Yes. Indians can stay in Kazakhstan visa-free for up to 14 days per visit (42 days in 180). Fly to Almaty, travel 240 km by road to Bishkek or via Kegen to Karakol, and return from Bishkek. Choose a multiple-entry Kyrgyz e-visa if you cross back and forth.

Do Indians need to register in Kyrgyzstan?

For a 1–2 week holiday in hotels you normally do not register yourself. Decree No. 600 (September 2026) changed the procedure, so if you stay more than 30 days, rent a flat or stay with friends, confirm the current rule with your host or a migration office before travel.
