It's a small place for a quiet weekend rather than a resort for a week.

Where to stay
The base has a hotel for 40 guests, which is the main thing that sets it apart from Chunkurchak, where there's no lodging. You can arrive on Friday evening and ski both days of the weekend without the drive in from the city. There aren't many rooms, so book ahead for holidays.
Who it suits
Toguz-Bulak suits people in Bishkek who want a weekend on the snow with an overnight stay, away from the crowds and lift queues at the closer bases. There is some freeride terrain, but not much. Beginners and families with small children will find Chunkurchak, with its kids' conveyor, easier, and for long runs and altitude you're better off at Karakol or Too-Ashuu. Every base in the country is compared in our guide to Kyrgyzstan's ski resorts.
Avalanches and safety
Toguz-Bulak wasn't on the list of Chui region bases that the Tourism Department and the Emergencies Ministry inspected before the season in December 2024. The base doesn't publicly mention any patrol or avalanche service. Only go into the freeride areas with an avalanche kit and never alone, especially after fresh snow, and read our avalanche safety guide before you go. The emergency number is 112.
