## Kyrgyzstan trip cost from India: 5, 7 and 10 days

Per person, sharing a double room, including return flight from Delhi and the e-visa:

| Trip length | Backpacker | Mid-range | Comfort |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 days | ₹42,000–65,000 ($480–740) | ₹60,000–1,00,000 ($680–1,140) | ₹95,000–1,60,000 ($1,080–1,820) |
| 7 days | ₹48,000–72,000 ($550–820) | ₹73,000–1,20,000 ($830–1,360) | ₹1,20,000–2,00,000 ($1,360–2,270) |
| 10 days | ₹56,000–85,000 ($640–970) | ₹90,000–1,55,000 ($1,020–1,760) | ₹1,60,000–2,70,000 ($1,820–3,070) |

The spread comes mostly from the flight price and from how much private transport you use. A family of four sharing one private car pays far less per head for transport than a couple.

## Money tips for Indian travellers

- **Carry US dollars in cash.** Clean, undamaged $50 and $100 notes get the best rates at exchange offices ("Обмен валют") in Bishkek and Karakol. Rupees are almost impossible to exchange in Kyrgyzstan.

- **Cards:** Visa and Mastercard work in Bishkek hotels, supermarkets and many restaurants and at ATMs. Enable international usage on your Indian card and check your bank's forex mark-up (often 2–3.5%). Forex cards loaded with USD are a good option. RuPay acceptance is not reliable — do not depend on it.

- **Cash outside towns:** guesthouses, yurt camps, marshrutkas and bazaars are mostly cash. Withdraw before going to Song-Kul or Naryn.

- **UPI does not work** in Kyrgyzstan. Locals pay by QR code through local bank apps, which tourists usually cannot use without a local account. More in [money and payments](https://visitalatoo.com/guide/money-payments/).

- **Decline "conversion at ATM rate"** and pay in som — the local currency is almost always cheaper.

## When is Kyrgyzstan cheapest to visit from India?

Prices follow the season. July and August are the peak: Issyk-Kul resorts around Cholpon-Ata can cost roughly twice the June rate, and yurt camps at Song-Kul fill up. May, June and September give similar weather in the valleys with lower hotel prices and easier bookings. Winter (December–February) is cheap for hotels outside ski weekends, and a snow trip to Ala-Archa, Chunkurchak and Karakol suits Indian families who want their first real snow — see [snow holiday in Kyrgyzstan](https://visitalatoo.com/experiences/winter-snow-holiday/). Indian school holidays (May–June and Diwali in October–November) push up the direct-flight fares, so book those dates 6–8 weeks ahead.

## How to make the trip cheaper

- Travel in June or September: same mountains, lower hotel prices than July–August.

- Book the TezJet direct flight early or fly into Almaty if fares are lower — Kazakhstan does not charge Indians for a visa.

- Use shared taxis and marshrutkas for long routes, and hire a private car only for scenic sections.

- Stay in family guesthouses — they include breakfast and often cook vegetarian food on request (see [vegetarian Kyrgyzstan](https://visitalatoo.com/guide/vegetarian-kyrgyzstan/)).

**Myth:** "Central Asia is as expensive as Europe." **Fact:** outside Bishkek's top hotels, a Kyrgyzstan holiday costs about the same per day as a mid-range trip in Himachal or Kashmir — the flight is the main expense.
